KANSAS CITY, Mo. — As the health industry ramps up efforts to come back strong from the pandemic, innovative healthcare marketing strategies are in high demand. In response, Dobies Health Marketing continues to expand its creative and client services teams. Last week, the Kansas City-based healthcare marketing firm welcomed Alexis McDowell as Account & Digital Project Coordinator and Donna Broussard Segura as Healthcare Marketing Writer.
“Alexis and Donna bring the right experience and skillsets to deliver exceptional work with powerful results for our clients,” said Thom Ludtke, Vice President of Creative Services. “As we adapt alongside our clients to the emerging needs of the post-pandemic health frontier, we are growing our team in ways that continuously strengthen our ability to do what we do best: blend strategic thinking with creative communications to create healthier brands.”
As Account & Digital Project Coordinator, Alexis works with clients and internal teams to ensure on-time, on-budget execution for all marketing, branding and advertising initiatives. As both a graduate and former employee of University of Missouri, Alexis brings a fresh understanding of cutting-edge digital marketing strategies, including design. Upon graduation, she hit a marketing homerun when she was selected as one of only 12 students to join the St. Louis Cardinals First Pitch Program Inaugural Class. Most recently, she has worked as a design professional and a project coordinator in the solar industry. She also worked with conversion software at Cerner. With a knowledge base grounded in technology, popular culture and the arts, Alexis brings a unique perspective to the firm’s strategy-first health marketing expertise.
“For a long time, I knew I wanted a career that would combine creativity and strategic thinking to elevate brands,” Alexis said. “I’m thrilled to join the Dobies Health Marketing team, where I can put my skills and passions to work in ways that create not only healthy companies, but also healthier consumers.”
As the newest member of our content development team, Donna Broussard Segura has more than 20 years of writing and marketing experience. She has worked at every level in the healthcare industry – from medical social worker to marketing executive. Donna has published a magazine, organized expos and hosted a health-focused radio show for the burgeoning 50+ market. She has also worked in program design and grant writing, garnering millions of dollars in funding for nonprofits. At Harvard, she was an editor at The Harvard Crimson and accepted into Harvard’s competitive creative writing curriculum, with studies that blended creative writing, psychology and visual arts.
“With clients that range from international biotech giants and academic medical centers to local non-profits tackling the healthcare needs of the homeless, I knew this was the place and team for me,” said Donna. “I’m so excited to exercise the full range of my imagination and curiosity to touch every aspect of this life-saving industry as it reimagines daily the possibilities of health. The heroes in the healthcare field deserve every ounce of the passion I bring to my work.”
Welcoming Alexis and Donna to the team is the latest in a series of developments that mark increasing growth for Dobies Health Marketing as it approaches 30 years in strategy-first health marketing. Earlier this summer, the company added Client Services Director Kristi Bond. With deep experience in digital/interactive projects, Kristi serves as a liaison for web and digital campaigns.
